“Park Smart and put children’s safety first” is the message being delivered to parents in Surrey.
Surrey Heath Borough Council has teamed up with Surrey County Council and Police to encourage safer parking around schools, particularly at drop-off and pick-up times.
The partnership says parking on pavements, zigzags and yellow lines surrounding schools, reduces space and visibility for drivers and pedestrians, making accidents more likely, especially at busy times.
