The 2018 Local Transport Summit, organised by LTT and Landor Links, will take place on Thursday and Friday 29-30 November in Hertfordshire.
Hertfordshire County Council, along with England’s Economic Heartland, of which the county is a member, will host the event and provide a context for discussions on local transport policy and delivery challenges with a particular focus on shire counties and the issues affecting medium-sized and smaller towns, suburban and regional connectivity issues, and the links between transport and economic development in such locations. It will also explore the latest thinking on broader local transport planning and decision-making professional issues.
This year’s Summit will be the third in the series, which began in Oxford and last year was located in Greater Manchester. As before, it will involve a 24-hour residential programme, from early afternoon on the first day until lunchtime on the second, with senior decision-makers invited from local transport, and others from associated fields whose activities form a key part of the mobility planning landscape – including urban development, housing and local economic, social and environmental strategy experts.
Full details will be announced in the next LTT. In the meantime, anyone interested in being involved as a partner, or with suggestions for content, should contact Jason Conboy on jason@landor.co.uk or phone on 0207 091 7895.
A review of the first two summits by Professor Glenn Lyons is now available to read on the Local Transport Summit website - http://www.landor.co.uk/lts/
