Five more unitary authorities in South Wales are preparing to take on civil parking enforcement (CPE), using the established back office function of Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) council for processing.
Gwent Police has informed Caerphilly, Newport, Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Blaenau Gwent councils of its withdrawal of traffic wardens. In response, all five have resolved to apply for CPE powers. Some will begin enforcement operations in April 2019.
