Mayor of Leicester Sir Peter Soulsby has set out his intention of launching a workplace parking levy (WPL) in the city. The Labour mayor said he will hold a consultation on whether to implement some form of WPL if he is re-elected to lead Leicester City Council for a third term in May’s local elections.
Soulsby confirmed he was considering a model similar to Nottingham, which became the first, and so far only, UK city to introduce a levy in 2012.
