Parklet campaigner Brenda Puech was named Walking Champion 2019 by Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking. Puech was awarded the Charles Maher Award on 29 March at Living Streets’ National Walking Summit. The award was set up in honour of Charles Maher, a campaigner and supporter of Living Streets.
Puech was recognised for transforming a parking space outside her home in east London into a mini-park, or ‘parklet’.
