Caerphilly makes CPO to demolish street

Caerphilly County Borough Council is to make a compulsory purchase order to acquire homes on a steep part of the A472 that fails to comply with  the legal limit values for nitrogen dioxide. 

The council will purchase more than 20 properties on Hafod-yr-ynys-Road for demolition (LTT 05 Jul). Most of the properties form Woodside Terrace. Many residents have agreed to sell by negotiation but a CPO is needed to ensure the street is demolished by December 2021, when air quality compliance...
