Crawley Borough Council is using an automatic number plate reading (ANPR) system in one of its town centre car parks. The West Sussex local authority has been working with Flowbird to replace a pay & display system at its Orchard Street multi-storey car park with a MiniPark ANPR scheme.
The council said it wants more customer friendly parking and also improve traffic flow into and out of the 448-space car park to ease congestion on the local road network.
