Gatwick appoints new Chief Commercial Officer

Jonathan Pollard is joining Gatwick Airport this month as its new Chief Commercial Officer. He will be responsible for driving the airport’s airline relations, retail, restaurants and other commercial revenue streams, including parking and property portfolios.

Stewart Wingate, Chief Executive Officer, Gatwick Airport, said: “Jonathan joins us in what are unprecedented times and his experience and success driving vital revenue streams and developing new business will be critical in helping Gatwick rebuild and grow as the airport enters a new chapter in its history.”

Pollard was previously the Commercial Director at Luton Airport, where was responsible for expanding commercial and retail space while creating a commercial strategy based upon business research and passenger insight.

He holds a BSc in Air Transport Management from Loughborough University and joined National Express Group as a graduate in 2005, going on to hold several Executive roles, including Commercial Director of the coach division business.

Pollard said: “We are inevitably experiencing difficult times, but the aviation industry has proven its resilience in the past and this will likely be no exception as long as we adapt quickly to changes in consumer behaviour and passenger processes.”
