CAZ may be unnecessary – Leeds

Leeds City Council says Covid-19 and continuing upgrades to vehicle fleets may mean there is no longer a need to implement a charging clean air zone (CAZ) in the city.  

The Government has ordered Leeds to implement a Class B CAZ covering a large part of the city as part of a clean air plan to reduce nitrogen dioxide concentrations below legal limits. 

Daily charges of £50 would apply to non-compliant buses, coaches and HGVs, and £12.50 to taxis and private hire vehicles...
