It’s good to see the ongoing discussion about carrying bikes on buses in this column. Regarding Roger Sexton’s scepticism of carrying buses on routes such as Transport for London’s 108 through the Blackwall Tunnel (LTT 02 Oct), I’d note that I’ve used this route a few times, occasionally just wheeling the Brompton on board with a nod to the driver. 

It is exactly the sort of service that needs cycle carriage in urban areas – I’m hoping that...
