Islington Council is enhancing its cashless parking service in a bid to encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles. The north London council has upgraded its RingGo Emissions Based Parking system to a Net Zero Parking solution, where parking fees are reduced for more environmentally friendly cars.
Under the Emissions-Based Parking approach introduced in 2018, the council included a diesel surcharge in its parking tariffs. The borough saw decrease in diesel vehicle usage as a result.
