Newcastle CAZ fees postponed

Clean air fees of up to £50 a day for drivers entering Newcastle city centre have been postponed by Newcastle and Gateshead councils.

The Clean Air Zone (CAZ) is being introduced to reduce levels of harmful pollution from vehicles in response to a government legal order. The zone covers most of Newcastle city centre along with routes over the Tyne, Swing, High Level and Redheugh bridges and will affect taxis, vans, buses, coaches and HGVs that do not meet national emissions...
