First Group has appointed Alan Pilbeam as managing director of its newly-merged Essex and Eastern Counties businesses.
First announced its plans to merge the two operations earlier this year (Transit February 20). The group was responding to an environment of increasing costs. The neighbouring operations are similar-sized and both carry out many of the same administrative and back-office tasks.
