Rail industry faces penalties for failure to improve passenger information

The Office of Rail Regulation will require train operators to publish plans to improve passenger information and hit them with penalties for poor performance, as a result of reforms currently being discussed by the industry.

Amendments to operators’ and Network Rail’s licences proposed in the ORR’s new consultation document will:
