FirstGroup is to sell its Bolton bus depot and operations to West Midlands-based Rotala for £5.3m.
Rotala will purchase the depot, take over 18 bus routes, and lease 125 vehicles from First, with vehicles being replaced progressively over the next two years. Five hundred staff will also transfer.
The sale, expected to be completed in August, will make Rotala the second largest player in the Manchester market, after Stagecoach.
