Cheltenham will proceed with sale of Prestbury car park

A petition calling on Chelthenham Borough Council to reverse plans to sell a surface car park in Prestbury has been rejected.

The site is understood to be being sold for around £120,000. It is understood to have been offered to the parish council for a third of that price.

Around 1,000 people signed a petition seeking to take Idsall Drive car park off the market.

The car park currently has 10 free short-stay spaces but council chiefs say it is underused and costs about £4,000 a year...
