Swadlincote`s new parking site features a pocket park

A new car park that is free to use has been opened in the centre of Swadlincote in Derbyshire.

South Derbyshire District Council said it created the 54-space site to support local businesses in the High Street.

The site includes eight electric vehicle charging bays. Three of the bays are extra wide to make them accessible for wheelchair users.

The surface parking site also features a "pocket park" which features more than 200 native copper beech trees which will grow to form dwarf hedgerows,...
