Douglas City Council has approved essential repair to cladding on a multi-storey car park.

The Shaw’s Brow car park will undergo a 40-week programme of phased activity to carry out the remedial works, which will cost around £1.5m.

Devon Council, chairman of the housing and property committee, said replacing the cladding was essential maintenance and not a matter of aesthetics. He said the remedial works would also extend the life of the building, which has 692 spaces.
