WAG awards road cash to councils

The Welsh Assembly Government has awarded £55m to councils for road schemes (£46m) and safer routes in communities projects (£8.5m). The biggest grant is a £24.5m award to Rhondda Cynon Taf for the Church village bypass. The overall grant compares poorly with the £95m awarded to councils two years ago.
