Cash payments at scrap yards banned

Cash payments at recycling yards in England and Wales have been banned under new laws aimed at cutting metal theft. Fines for those breaking the law have been increased in the amendments to the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill, with the Scottish government proposing the introduction of similar measures.
