Journey’s end for National Park buses

A network of bus routes that provide access for visitors to the North York Moors National Park will be scrapped this autumn after 30 years of operation.

The Moorsbus service will cease at the end of October. The National Park Authority has blamed the decision on a 35% real terms cut to its budget from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

At its peak in 2009 the service carried 74,915 passengers.
