Roads take the largest share of Welsh Assembly's transport grant

The Welsh Assembly Government has allocated £117.6m of transport grant to local authorities for 2008/09, 16% more than 2007/08.

Rhondda Cynon Taff will receive £28.6m including £18m for the Church Village bypass and an ultimate commitment of £90m to the project.

Caerphilly receives £14.6m, including £10.5m for the Greater Bargoed Community Regeneration road scheme.

Gwynedd's £14m includes £12.7m for the A499 Aberdesach to Llanaelhearn scheme.
