The decision on a planning application for expansion at Farnborough Airport has been put back till June. The plans could have far-reaching consequences for communities in the surrounding areas of Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex according to local environmental groups.
They believe the airport’s owners, the Australian investment group Macquarie, may intend to sell it on after getting approval for the proposed expansion, primarily focussed on business aviation.
