It has been revealed that employee-owned operator Preston Bus is in advanced talks with Stagecoach to sell the business in a rumoured £6m deal.

The move comes just 18 months after the Perth-based group launched a competitive assault against Preston Bus. That led to questions in Parliament and a behind-closed-doors deal between the two sides to halt a potentially explosive public inquiry into the bus war that was convened by north west traffic commissioner Beverley Bell.
