The Competition Commission has ruled that Stagecoach must sell Preston to a competing company, after concluding its inquiry into the acquisition of the firm.

Stagecoach acquired Preston Bus earlier this year from its management and employee owners. It followed a two year period of intense competition in the city between the two operators which resulted in intervention from North West traffic commissioner Berverly Bell and questions asked in the House of Commons.
