Lyon Airport expands use of robot valets

Stanley Robotics operation will expand to 2,000 spaces after trial impresses VINCI Airports

The use of mobile robots to park cars at a French airport is to be expanded following a successful trial. Over the past year 500 outdoor parking spaces at Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport have been managed using a system developed by Stanley Robotics.

VINCI Airports has now agreed that the car park served by the robots can be expanded to 2,000 spaces in summer 2020. The partnership between Stanley Robotics and VINCI Airports, which began in 2017, ultimately aims to offer over 6,000 spaces.
