Northumberland County Council has become the first authority in the country in modern times to reach a land value capture agreement with landowners to help fund new transport infrastructure.

Land value capture (LVC) has long been touted as a way to raise funding for transport projects. Until now, however, no one has devised a method to put it into practice.
