Westminster ends removals to car pound

Vehicles causing a serious obstruction in Westminster will no longer be towed away a car pound, but will instead be relocated to the nearest available space. Vehicles causing an obstruction in a disabled or suspended bay, or on the request of the police, will now be moved and issued with a penalty charge notice, but not an extra removal charge, said the council.

The decision, which came into force on 27 June, means the council’s Park Lane pound, which holds 280 vehicles, will be closed...
