First TransPennine train driver Kath Carroll has been selected for a special bursary

Two rail industry employees have been selected for a special bursary, funding them through the Institution of Railway Operator’s highly regarded Degree in Railway Operational Management.

Such was the standard of those applying for the bursary, given in memory of former IRO chairman and Network Rail director of operations Derek Holmes, a decision was taken to make two awards.
