The Welsh Government has awarded the Future Valleys consortium the contract to dual the final two sections (5 and 6) of the A465 Heads of the Valleys road. The contract will dual 11 miles of the three-lane road between Dowlais Top in Merthyr Tydfil and Hirwain. Construction should start early next year and end in mid-2025.
