Surrey County Council is ending its support for a 100-mile cycle event inspired by the London 2012 Olympics, citing opposition to the event from many residents.
The ‘Prudential Ride London Surrey’ event has taken place every year since 2013, with the main 100-mile mass participation event following the route of the 2012 Olympic road race events. The event requires one-day road closures from 05.30-19.00.
