Scotland’s seven statutory regional transport partnerships (RTPs) would be given more clout by a Liberal Democrat Government.
The statutory RTPs were set up by the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005 but have not developed into the powerful bodies that the legislation allowed.
The Lib Dems would give the RTPs the resources to integrate all forms of transport locally, including powers to “control bus services”.
