Special focus on partnership benefits joins this year’s Travel 2020 agenda

Some new issues will be under the spotlight at the 3rd Travel annual 2020 exhibition and conference on 10-11th October. Peter Stonham gives an update on the programme.

13 July 2012

A special focus on partnership building to create win-win outcomes in transport provision, and the culture change needed to provide a genuine customer-facing ethos, has been added to the programme for this year’s major Travel 2020 exhibition and conference which will take place on the 10th & 11th October 2012 at Kia Oval, London.

The highly topical issue joins the eight major topic areas already being addressed by the event in two days of wide ranging discussion about the future of passenger transport service and system development and delivery. The event is led by New Transit and partners RTiG INFORM with the support of a range of major industry players.

Top expert speakers have already been confirmed across the major seminar sessions on topics addressing technological, customer service, product and management issues affecting the way in which passenger transport services are planned and delivered, and opportunities explored for new offers and enhanced relationships with users.

Seminar topics are being informed by the series of Travel 2020 Expert Round Tables, the second of which, addressing payment systems at the end of July, joins with the initial discussion on passenger information.

Industry leaders representing innovative system suppliers, advisors and specifiers of cutting edge concepts that are harnessing the latest payment technologies and  customer transactions approaches will be involved in the latest round table.

In addition to partnership, information and payment, other key themes at the event will be customer relationship management and journey experience approaches that reposition the passenger transport offer, including the important issue of passenger safety and security.

As part of the wide ranging culture change accompanying the repositioning of passenger transport services the new focus on partnership working will look at the benefits and challenges from both transport operator, passenger transport authority and customer perspectives of a more collaborative approach.

Arriva, one of the leading exponents of this thinking will be exhibiting this year. This key operator understands the importance of creating good trusted partnerships to achieve a positive passenger transport offer by working with local transport authorities.

Barclaycard are likewise are serious players about the changing world of travel payments and have confirmed their exhibition presence to support a major initiative in taking transport transactions forward in a new user-friendly way.

The Travel 2020 exhibition will showcase many other innovators within

the passenger management market including Mobius Networks, INIT, VIX, Icomera, Clever Devices, AEGMIS, Parkeon, Go Travel Solutions & ITO World.

Visitors to the Travel 2020 event will have the ability to select from some 70 top expert speakers in three streams and visit more than 60 exhibitors.

Alongside the conference and exhibition there will be meetings of specialist groups including Carplus, RTiG, and others covering travel information and combined mobility. More than 800 individual visitors are expected to the exhibition.
