Scots clamp down on polluting buses

The Scottish Executive has published plans to clamp down on bus operators who use vehicles with poor emission standards. Under new proposals, local authorities will be able to ask the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland to impose vehicle emission standards on bus operators' Public Service Vehicle licences. The standards would relate to the Euro emission standards that set the emission level of vehicles when new. Consultation closes on 5 May....
