Gatwick Airport seeks to bring second standby runway into regular use

Gatwick Airport Limited is seeking development consent to bring its existing standby runway into routine use alongside the main runway. The scheme, known as the Northern Runway Project (NRP).

The £2.2bn plan would create a fully functioning second runway by the end of the decade, increasing passenger numbers by more than 10 million passengers a year.
